Traditional Boat of Kelantanese Fishermen

Colourful patterns. This is the beauty of the traditional fishing boats of Kelantanese fishermen. As can be seen, this one is sheltered from the elements under dried palm fronds. The boat is propped up and kept away from dampness. The intricate patterns are painted by hand and fishermen in Kelantan take great pride in their handiwork. This piece was painted in late 2003.
